The Harvest Cycle
Turmeric is planted with the pre-monsoon rains and lifted after roughly eight to nine months in the ground, which puts the main Erode harvest between January and March. The rhizomes are boiled, sun-dried for ten to fifteen days, then either left as raw fingers or polished.
Buying close to harvest gets you the freshest volatile oil profile. Buying later in the year is perfectly viable — properly stored turmeric holds its specification for 12 to 24 months — but the curcumin figure should still come from a batch test, not from the season's reputation.
| Form | Curcumin | Moisture | MOQ |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raw turmeric fingers | 4.0% – 5.5% | 8–12% | 500 kg |
| Polished turmeric | 3.5% – 4.8% | 9–11% | 1,000 kg |
| Turmeric powder | 3.0% – 5.0% | Max 10% | 500 kg |
How We Source Here
We buy through direct partnerships with farms in the belt rather than picking up anonymous lots on the open market. That is the only way the batch record on your consignment can name a farm, a harvest date and a processing method — and the only way a re-order can be matched to the same source rather than merely the same grade.
Each lot is tested before it is offered: curcumin, moisture, ash, heavy metals and microbiological load. If a lot does not meet the range we quoted, it does not ship as that grade.
